Progress Report 2.5 Years

I figured I would do a post every 3 to 6 months on Samantha's progress. She has been doing VERY well lately and learning a lot. Her speech is the same. She has conversations with us, but she is learning new words every day! She is learning to read! She asked me the other day to teach her. And while I don't want to push her to learn anything, I don't want to discourage it either, even if it doesn't work out. So we are working on it, just in the beginning though. She wants to learn because of Word World. I like to make it fun by "building words" like they do on there. We have been using movies, flash cards, and online games. We even used her letter blocks a few times. She is getting pretty good at sounding out. We are going over the letter sounds and I will say, "What letter is this?" She will say, "B. B as in Bumble Bee." "What does B say?" And she will say "B says b as in B-UG! BUG! Bug starts with B!" She gets so excited. It is usually words she sees on Word World, but I am still proud of her. She is also becoming more independent. She will go to the bathroom by herself. (Because I bribe her with marshmellows. lol.) She even goes to sleep with less "assistance." But she has to have her Baby Music video. And she is getting along with other kids a little better than she was. She can also walk up the stairs by herself now. :)
That's about it. Also, since I was thinking Samantha is getting a little lonely, I decided to start watching my little brother twice a week. I watched him all week last week and now I am just watching him Tuesday and Thursday, but Samantha is Loving it. (My nerves aren't though...eh. lol)

Look at my Big Girl! I am so Proud of her!
