So Far Beyond Angry

Sorry...This is my place to vent. And I am ready to vent. Big thanks, Christina for listening to me earlier, and again, I am so sorry I suggested you move here. I hope you don't have any more problems out of him. So let me start at the beginning.


We have been pushing for a closing date from the realtor so that we could do the right thing and give Brian a 30 day notice. Now this next part may not make sense, but I will try to explain it...When we moved in, we paid first month's rent, last month's rent, and deposit. It all totalled to a little over $1,000.00. I remember writing the check. I remember tellig everybody how ridiculous it was that we had to pay first and last month's rent, and I remember think, "How will we come up with rent for next month in the next 2 weeks?"


So I called today to discuss with my landlord what our rent for this month will be since we wanted to move out June 15th. We were going to give our formal 30 day notice on May 15th and move out June 15th, or earlier. So I said the last month's rent that we already paid him would cover that and I wanted to know how much he would charge us for May 1st-May 14th. He started going off saying that he has NEVER in his 20 years of renting charged anybody first and last month's rent. What he did was charge us first and NEXT month's rent. And that it didn't matter if we moved out in the middle of the month, we still had to pay full month's rent, no prorating. On top that he said it didn't matter we had the receipt or not, "We couldn't PROVE anything." AND he basically said we would not be getting our deposit back. His exact words were, "After you give your notice, I will send you a paper with all the clean up charges." CLEAN UP CHARGES? WHAT?!!! 


I am so angry! So, we will be out of here by June 1st. Sorry for him, but he is not getting a 30 day notice. I already talked to the loan lady at the mortgage company and she said that if he tried to do anything about it, we would have already closed on the house by then, and he can't do anything to us. 


Urg! This is just frustrating....Vent over.
