Inspection went extremely well. She said nothing major was wrong. It was just small issues such as the gutters were a little loose and needed to be tightened. The biggest problem she found was that the porch was a bit of a safety issue because the railing on the way down doesn't have slats to prevent someone from falling through. She said USDA won't accept that, so they will fix it! She said they will pay for everything to get fixed, even the little bitty stuff, like a piece of stucco is missing off the house. It isn't causing any problems. It just isn't there, so they will fix that. They are also going to reimburse us for the inspection fee, which is great because that is $375.00 that we have already paid her. Plus she will have to come out again, which is $75.00 more! Anyway, so that was all good news I got this morning.
They figure closing will be before the 15th of June for sure, so I will start packing probably next week. We stay even busier than usual during the week between the Women's Center, Storytime and Errand day, on top of all the cleaning. And a lot of lessons and activities with Sam! So I will start next week and take it slow-so I can make sure that everything is clean-which, it should already be, but I am sure I will find a few surprises when I move some of the furniture. And I gotta get everything packed neatly to make the move easier.
I figure since it has passed inspection, it is okay to start making plans! We are picking out colors for each room, just not sure on the exact shade. We are going to be using Better Homes and Gardens colors because most of the stuff in the house is Better Homes and Gardens, and the shades they have are meant to compliment their products.
Living Room-Light Brown
Kitchen-Maybe Light Blue...Not sure yet.
Bathrooms-Probably the same shade of brown in the living room.
School Room-Need Suggestions, but probably brown because I don't want to do primary colors.
Bedrooms: Sam-Pink with light green and purple stencils, like butterflies and such. Our Room-The same color that is in the picture below. We have that comforter, and that was one of the suggested colors to coordinate with the bedset.
We also want to finish the basement, like I mentioned before. Jessie is making plans for that. He has to get permits and all.
And since the furniture in our room is particle board now and it probably won't make it through the move, and we can't afford new furniture, I am looking for some cheap furniture at yardsales and the thrift store. I want to redecorate it to look like the same style below. I LOVE that style! Jessie thinks that we should do a light blue with the furniture to match the bed set.
I Love this style! |
