Feels Like Blogging

Samantha is asleep and it is quiet in here, so I thought I would blog.

We have been having a lot of fun lately. I Love Summer! We went bowling yesterday. Sam Loves to bowl, and she hasn't been since her birthday. It has just been too hot to do anything outdoors really. Our friend had a summer pass to the bowling alley, so all we had to do was get shoes. That was fun. We have been to the beach, several times. LOVE the beach!  The one we go to now is called Chester Frost and it is so much bigger and better than Carter's Beach. The best part is, it's free! Had some pool parties/camp outs in my Aunt's backyard. lol

As far as the house goes, they say we will be closing Friday. (The USDA is working on our papers as I type this.) But realistically, because of the holiday, I am thinking Monday, as long as all goes smooth. They said the last time the USDA sent back papers that to them to fix something was 10 years ago, so I will flip if we are the "lucky ones" 10 years later that has something sent back to redo, because then it will take a 2-3 more weeks.....But I'll just pray that doesn't happen.

We have been anxious about the house, so we bought a few small things to go in it when Jessie got paid Friday. We got Jessie some Dexter "blood spatter" coasters for his man cave. We both LOVE Dexter! Watching that is like our weekly together time. lol We also got him a faucet LED for his man cave. You twist it on the faucet and it will light up red if the water is hot and blue if it is cold. Then, for Sam's room, since we are re-doing it in an art/whatever she is interested in at the time theme, we got her a projector night light that projects the planets onto the ceiling.

Speaking of Sam's room, we are keeping the same color scheme, the pastels. But adding lots of opportunities for her to change and add her own touches with art as often as she likes. She used to LOVE taping her drawings to her bed. So we are going to do a clothes line from one wall to the next for her to hang her art up on. She will have a marker board/magnetic board and chalk board to draw on or decorate. And a cork board to put her stuff on. Then of course, since she is interested in planets right now, we got her that projector. We will get her some glow in the dark stars for her ceiling and maybe make a mobile of the planets. Those sort of things are easy and simple to change out as she finds different interests. She will probably have a plain color pastel comforter to go on her new TWIN bed. (Jessie's Mom is the manager at her trailer park and she cleans out abandoned trailers. She found a daybed in pretty much new shape. But the best part is, it has a bed to pull out under it, like a trundle bed. Sam has been asking for a bunk bed, so I thought that would kinda work. I asked her how much she wanted for it, and she said we could have it! We just gotta get mattresses for it, so we are going to get her that $100.00 memory foam one from WalMart since that is what she is used to from our old bed. Jessie moved it into storage, and we will set it up when we move. :) That's about it. Aside from getting rid of some of the old princess stuff, especially her dress up closet. It keeps falling on her and she doesn't really seem to be interested in dress up anyway. She draws and reads mostly, so she will have a special area for that.

Jessie and Josh are just big kids. They built a sand castle with Sam's new sand toys.
