Another Co-Op Update and Taxes

I got an email back from the lady at the co-op the other day. We will be touring February 10th. (How exciting!) We discussed a little about how I was concerned about what they were learning in the preschool (letter sounds and such) being boring to Samantha, and she said that at 4 we could discuss going ahead and moving Samantha into Kindergarten, but I don't think I like the idea of that. I think she thinks Samantha is already 4 and will be turning 5 after the next school year starts. I am anxiously awaiting the 10th.

We also discussed the option of doing the "co-op" at the YMCA. They do just a full day of fun activities (Pilates, Karate, Spanish, etc.). They get to be around other kids and have classes and lunch and such like a regular school day, but they aren't in charge of any academics. I really want to be the one who chooses her curriculum and such, so I am thinking maybe the YMCA would be better. I am going to call them soon and find out more.

Oh, and after much reading and discussing and thinking and discussing again, it is finally final, Samantha WILL DEFINITELY be homeschooling, as long as circumstances allow of course. Now just figuring out how we will be doing it, what "method" we will use, weather she will attend co-op, and curriculum-the toughest of all of them, but I may wait until she is old enough to determine her learning style before I dive into all that mess.

As far as Samantha goes, we are removing her from dance and hoping to put her into art classes. She just doesn't seem as interested as last semester. She even cries and say she doesn't want to go sometimes. She just stands in the back and asks, "Is it over yet?" She says she would rather draw, so we are looking into that, but apparently that isn't half as popular around here as dance. The one class we did fine is $60.00 a month, which would be pushing it, but I guess if that is our only choice, we will have to work something out. (Honestly, it would probably even out because we won't have to buy dance shoes, outfits, recital outfits, performance fees, fundraisers...hey...this is looking better and better...)

Also, filed our taxes the other day and we got back a good bit, which we plan to use for a good chunk for all new clothes for all of us. I didn't think we would have enough to get much, but I was determined to get what I could for my money because I have been wearing the same two sweaters for the last month. I am constantly washing clothes and it is nerve wracking and also embarrassing because I know people notice. So the other night I decided to go to Ross's-my new favorite place-and buy some clothes. Here is what I got: 4 winter sweater dresses, 2 spring/summer dresses, 2 pairs of tights to go under my winter dresses, and a pair of cute black shoes to go with all my winter outfits and all for only $100.00! I also went to Victoria Secret and got a NEW bra that actually fits for the first time ever!

All I need to get now is some closed toes brown shoes, and maybe a few more spring dresses, because I already have some nice dress pants and winter sweaters and a few spring dresses that fit. If I have anything left over after that I may buy some new "active wear" for my Pilates at the gym and for hiking and camping this summer. I am so happy to have clothes that actually fit!

I will post pics later. I keep trying to remember to take a picture of each outfit the day I wear it...That isn't working out so well. We have been on the run the last few days, and by time we get home, we are all exhausted.
