Halloween 2011

This year was the best! Samantha is 3 this year, and she definitely got the concept. She would go up to the door, ring the bell, say "Trick Or Treat," get her candy, say "Thank You"...The only part she didn't get was that she had to leave after that. lol. She was a little slow, as usual. (Even on Christmas she is slow at unwrapping things.)

As most of you know, she was Jessie from Toy Story, but she did end up looking more like a cowgirl because we did a pillowcase dress, but my little brother was Buzz Lightyear, so I am pretty sure most people figured it out.

Overall, I would say they had a pretty good holiday. We did a lot of activities and fun stuff. They seem to be happy. One of the last things Samantha said before bed last night was, "Can we go Trick-Or-Treating again tomorrow?"

Anyway, I know you all have a ton of Halloween posts to read, so here are some pics. (of her party with my little brother, a Halloween carnival in Ringgold, and of them Trick Or Treating-I thought I had more good ones of them Trick-Or-Treating. Guess not. At least I got some good ones of them in their costumes.

Side Note: I have also been trying more recipes now that it is Fall. I have been using a lot of the apples we got at the apple orchard. I have made apple pie and apple cobbler and frozen them for Thanksgiving. I made an apple spice cake. And some spicy pumpkin seeds out of the pumpkins we carved, which were yummy! I didn't try any of the apple stuff-don't like fruit. And of course, we made sugar cookies, and for the first time ever, I did NOT burn the cookies! I think I am getting a lot better at baking! I want to keep trying new recipes. Fall and Christmas time seem to be the best time to try them.

This was taken in our kitchen. (Our fall setup, since we don't have a front porch or yard.)

Yes, my child is doing the Rock On signal. I am sure Daddy taught her that one.

This is Samantha's signature face. Not sure why she makes it. She has the funniest expressions!

This was a game they played where they had to dig the Potato Head pieces out of the pumpkin guts and make a face on the pumpkin. They were not fond of it, as neither one of them likes to get messy, and Samantha does not like textures.

I am astonished she let them paint her face! She usually screams!

Trick-Or-Treating
My little brother screaming, "I got Trick-Or-Treats! I got Trick-Or-Treats!"

My Pumpkin Seeds. I have a plate like this for ever holiday. I think I am just going to start leaving cookies and candy and stuff on them for when people come over.
