Preparing for Some Firsts

Samantha is getting older, and that means we are preparing for a lot of firsts. First time going to a class by herself. Dance classes start on the 16th, and she is READY!!! She has surprised me at how well she is doing with being away from me, so I assume she will do great. Speaking of being away from me, she is still WILLINGLY sleeping in her bed! I don't even have to lay in there with her until she falls asleep!

She also has her very 1st sleep over coming up on the 13th!!! She will be staying with her best friend, Kylie Jade! She is thrilled! Jessie and I will also be going out that night to celebrate our marriage anniversary. We are going to Sir Goonies and to dinner. It will be our 2 year! I have faith in Samantha. I think she can do it. She may whine a little, but I think she be okay in the end. She keeps talking about what all she is going to do over there. And she promises to be a big girl and stay the whole night, but I will be prepared to pick her up just in case.

She also has her first REAL dentist appointment this month at Kool Smiles! On the 19th. She is just getting her teeth cleaned, but she is excited about that too. I just hope she doesn't freak when we get there.

Which reminds me, anytime we come up on a "first" or transition into something, I use the Bearenstain Bear Books. There is a book on just about everything. We read one right before we moved called "Moving Day." We also read one every year about family reunions. And I just got two more books, one about the dentist and one about a sleep over. They really help her, because it shows her what to expect. But as she gets older, I hope that it will be a good way to bring up any concerns she has about whatever it is we are dealing with.
