House Update

I am writing this more to clear things out it my mind, so if it seems scattered, sorry, because that is how my mind is right now. I am excited, nervous, uneasy that any of this will actually happen...Anyway,

So the lady from the bank called us back today. I told her all the details of our credit and what our bills were, Jessie's job history, everything, and she said it sounds like we have a great chance of getting approved to buy a home. What she wants to do is have Jessie talk to Comcast about the benefits he gets for working there. (Since they pay closing costs.) She wants to know if we need to wait until he has been there 6 months before we start looking or if it is at least 6 months on the day of closing. Then, once we find that out, we can start the process of pre-approval. Once we get that, we know we are eligible for the loan and can start looking and making offers. Depending on what Comcast says, that can be anywhere from a month from now to another 4 or 6 months before we can buy. And, depending on how fast or slow we want things to go, we can make it take up to a year or more. It really depends on us once we get the pre-approval, IF we get the pre-approval.

So, I have poured over the numbers all afternoon. Over and Over. Our bills are going up, 401k, health insurance, groceries, dance classes. Our phone is going up because we are going to go on our own contract. If we get a house, we will have house insurance and taxes, more electric, water, trash...So I got some estimates and I am basing a budget off of the highest estimate. And we can make it. It will be tough, but not too tough, and we have done tough before, when Jessie started at Nabco. But we will still be able to keep our gym membership and cable and savings and stuff, so it isn't like we will be in terrible shape. I am thinking we should go for it. We won't be paying too terrible much more than we are at this apartment. And we aren't even buying this apartment...I just gotta remind myself it's worth it...

We are looking for a 3 bedroom, 1-1/2 bath with a garage. My requirements: Nice kitchen, with stainless steel appliances. And an extra room to set up as Samantha's schoolroom. Jessie's: He just wants a man cave, like in a basement or something. And a garage. We want to stay in Catoosa, which means Graysville, Ringgold, or Fort O. I have been looking up houses and we have found some nice ones that meet our wants for $100,000.

Alright, I am feeling better. I just want Jessie to get home so we can go over it together, but he doesn't get off for another hour and a half, and that is if he isn't working overtime today.
