Progress Report 04/15

Just thought I would give an update on Samantha's progress. She is doing awesome! And learning even faster than she was. This morning she learned her thumb and pinky, left and right, in less than 5 minutes! I have been quizzing her all day to see if she remembers. Her speech is doing the best. That has always been her best area. She started having conversations with us awhile back, but now she is able to carry a better conversation. She uses complete sentences and asks/answers questions appropriately. I really like this because when I ask her to do something or I tell her not to do something again, she fully understands, and she will tell me that she does. The other day I said, "We do not throw this ball in the house. Do not do it again. Now, what are the rules?" And she said, "Roll it." (Which is what I always tell her. "Roll it. Don't throw it.") The best part about her speech is that she expresses her feelings clearly! I also like that she remembers so much! She remembers rules. People Events. She can tell me what she did when somebody watches her. And she can tell other people about what she did that day. It is awesome! With that said, there is one thing I worry about. She is walking on the inside of her feet again, and when she runs, her legs go out to the side. I am afraid we (me and her therapist) took her out of her braces too soon. So I called Babies Can't Wait to see what I can do, and I am waiting for a call back. Maybe we can go ahead and get her back in her braces and then go from there. I am not too worried about, but I do hope they will do something.

PS We got her the rest of her Easter basket stuff. We got her some Crayola erasable colored pencils and a special dry erase pack of Crayola markers and activities sheets that she can do in the car because if comes in a special carrying pack. And a Crayola art smock. A few other things...I don't remember right now, but I will post pics after we do her 1st hunt on Tuesday.
This was her when she was so proud that she put her stacker together all by herself!
