So I Know What To Do...
So I am in school for Occupational Therapy. I wanted to be a part-time Pediatric Therapist so that I can still volunteer at Sami's school and be home when she is off school. But after today, I know what I must do. My Mom and I had a conversation about inmates today. She says that most inmates don't get visits, especially on a regular basis. Now, I am not saying I am crazy about inmates or anything, but I feel like everyone deserves to feel special...Which got me thinking. Nobody wants to work in nursing home. They think it is gross and depressing. Maybe it is depressing though because most people there don't feel special. Most don't ever get visits (because nobody likes nursing homes or maybe they have no family left). I want to help people by making them feel special. SO, I decided I want to be a Geriatric OT. (However, I still want to work part-time.) Maybe this will give me that sense of being needed like I was talking about in my adoption post.
